When people search for shared office space or office space for lease in Santa Cruz, they’re usually not thinking much about where the closest coffee shops and restaurants are. But we do.
A key part of our business philosophy is to open Satellites close to where people live and within walking distance of coffee shops, eateries and retail stores, so our members don’t have to drive somewhere to get the things we need.
Walk Score is a website that ranks locations based on their proximity to exactly the types of businesses we believe are important to fostering walkable communities.
Walk Score explains:
Walkable neighborhoods offer surprising benefits to the environment, our health, our finances, and our communities.
Environment: Cars are a leading cause of climate change. Your feet are zero-pollution transportation machines.
Health: The average resident of a walkable neighborhood weighs 6-10 pounds less than someone who lives in a sprawling neighborhood.1
Finances: One point of Walk Score is worth up to $3,000 of value for your property. Read the research report.
Communities: Studies show that for every 10 minutes a person spends in a daily car commute, time spent in community activities falls by 10%.
The Satellite @ Felton is a walker’s paradise with a Walk Score rank of 92 (out of 100). The Satellite @ Scotts Valley comes in a little lower at 63, but Victor Square across the street has one of just about everything in it.
