Monday Night Meditation
Join this weekly drop-in group for an evening of meditation and teachings from the Buddhist tradition. The evening is open to beginning and experienced meditators. Vipassana teacher Carla Brennan, who is affiliated with the Spirit Rock Meditation Center, guides the evening. There is a suggested sliding scale donation of $5-$15, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
Qigong class
Qigong is a Taoist form of medical care in China and, similar to Tai Chi, it involves slow movements with a dance-like flow. It involves easy breathing, it is easy to do and it is excellent for those recovering from injuries. Qigong is known to greatly improve circulation, digestion, calm the nervous system and helps reduce anxiety, fear and depression. First Friday: FREE Co-working / Telework
We’re offering a free day of co-working / teleworking at our locations in Felton and Scotts Valley today. You bring the laptop. We’ll provide the WiFi, all the coffee you can drink, and a comfortable space for you to spread out, get some work done and maybe meet some interesting people. Our cubicles and cafe space are available to non-members on a first come, first served basis (some are reserved for members), and we’re open until 5:00 p.m. The Satellite @ Felton is at 6265 Highway 9, right next to Don Quixote’s. The Satellite @ Scotts Valley is at 5900 Butler Lane, right behind Scotts Valley Market.

Beginning iPad Class
Local Apple products specialist Doreen Lozano is offering iPad classes at the Satellite. The Beginning iPad Class includes an overview of the iPad’s features, including tips on using the iPad keyboard and navigating Web pages effectively. Lozano will cover native applications, including email, address book, calendar, notes and surfing the web. In addition, she will demonstrate techniques for syncing data between the iPad and a computer to ensure you will not lose data if the iPad becomes unavailable due to loss or damage.
Lozano will also demonstrate how to best navigate the Apple stores for Apps, iTunes and iBook and how to transfer photos to the iPad from a camera or computer.
The class is part lecture and part hands-on workshop using your own iPad. Cost for the class is $45 per person.

Permaculture Film Series – “Ecologically Sound Living by Designs for Health”
