Satellite Telework Center to host “SIP” preview to Mountain Community Resources ‘Italian Affair’ fundraiser on Sept. 9

Satellite Telework Center will host “SIP” – a preview of the Mountain Community Resources fundraising event – on Wednesday, Sept. 9 in Felton.
MCR, a family resource center serving the San Lorenzo Valley and Scotts Valley communities has scheduled its sixth annual “Italian Affair” fundraising event for Friday, Sept. 11 at In Vino Veritas from 5:30-9:30 p.m.
“This year’s event is going to be better than ever,” said event chairperson Steve Ziganti, “Luca always prepare the best meals for this event, the opera singers are lined up and the auction items are over the top; we’re all set for the event of the year.”
The Wednesday preview at The Satellite in Felton runs from 4-7 p.m. and costs $25. Wine and food will be served and participants will get to meet Jennifer Bahr-Anderson, the new executive director of MCR and get to place pre-bids on items that will be up for auction at the Friday event.
Some events up for auction this year include:
- 1 week stay at a brand new exclusive home in Huatulca, Oaxaca, Mexico
- 1 week stay at a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and full kitchen Condo, on Kaanapali Beach, HI.
- 1 Barrel (about 24/25 cases) of Cabernet from White Crane Winery, including a bottling party and private labeling. (serious bidders get to sample the aging brew)
- 1 week stay at a high-rise apartment in Praia Grande, Sao Paulo, Brasil.
- 3 different stays in wonderful accommodations in the Sierras.
- Beautiful artwork from Christine Charter-Moorhead, Annie and Duane Armstrong.
- Culinary tour for 4 at the Chalk Hill Winery in the Russian River Valley.
Mountain Community Resources
Mountain Community Resources (MCR), a family resource center, has been serving the 5th District Mountain Communities since 1982. MCR offers programs and services that work directly with individuals and families to provide a network of opportunities to help people thrive.
In addition to MCR’s drop in programs, they provide parenting classes, ESL classes, counseling and a special teen program located on the SLV High School campus.
